Karma?

Rajon Rondo breaks NBA all time assist record of the first four games of the season by dishing out 67 assists.

Now, being a Lakers fan, I have noticed the incredible talent of Rondo, while also realizing a simple lack of respect for "The Logo" (Jerry West) as he wears his headband upside down. I understand Rondo's statement. He is a Celtic. They hate the Lakers. I get it. But, wearing the headband upside down his whole career has, I think, put a bad spell on himself. Jerry West, "The Logo" has, because of his play, passion, attitude and sportsmanship, represented the Lakers organization and League well enough to be an example and the NBA symbol.

In Rondo's first four games, he has not worn a headband. Good for him. Now, he may have a chance at beating the Lakers in the Finals, assuming he is not cursed at the free throw line. The C's definatly would have won the Finals last year had Rondo been able to make even 50% of his attempts at the line.

Am I reading too much into this?!?

  2. Well, Rondo wasn't that bad when he was wearing the logo upside down either. Last year he led the league in assists per game with 16.8 and he had the best steal percetage with 3.3. He was also incredible in the playoffs, leading the men in green to the finals.
Rondo might not be the best shooter in the world but he has proven in the last couple of years to be the elite point guard in the NBA. He is just taking a break from the head band because it was starting to leave a mark.

  3. if he doesnt learn how to make free throws he will never be an "elite" point guard. Dwill is the best, then derrick rose. Rondo is not in the conversation. he doesnt have a complete game yet.

  5. Statistics show different. Oh yeah, if you want to go by winning, he has been to the finals twice in his like four years of being in this league. One of them being a ring. So we can either go by stats or by winning, aka rings and Rondo has them both beat. How many records do they have...

  6. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a fan of the upside down logo, never have been. Why do guys always try to make a statement, or be different? Cheesy if you ask me. As far as the best point guard goes..D. WIll, CP3, Rondo, D. Rose, Nash...I'd take any of them on my team.

Yeah Nate, Rondo has a ring but he also has a pretty strong group of teammates that helped him get it. D Will on the other hand basically flies solo out in Utah.

  7. im sorry i forgot CP3 and nash.

and we sholud start a whole new post if you want to talk about stats making one player better than another. for example: is aaron rogers a better QB than payton manning? stats say so, but no one else does

  8. Ok, obviously you choose winning as your guage of the best point guard. I didn't say stats alone, I said YOU choose, either stats or winning big games to guage. I don't know if you saw last years playoffs but Rondo was ok. He beat Cleveland pretty much himself. I mean in game 4 of the Cleveland series last year, Rondo had 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists. Supposedly Cleveland was the team to beat last year, so that was probably a pretty big game. Did I mention a must win. Rondo has showed up on the big stage. CP3, DWILL, Rose will probably end up having better stats then Rondo this year, but like last year, the most talked about point guard in the playoffs was Rondo and it probably will be again.
